Irrigation Shutoff - Monday, October 10
Added 9/29/11 – The pumps for the pressurized irrigation system are scheduled to be shut off on Monday, October 10 at 6:00 pm. The last full day irrigation water will be available is expected to be October 9. You will have to switch to city water afterward to continue watering your property after this date. If you plan to use City water, please be sure to close your valve to the pressurized irrigation system! If you fail to do this, you will be supplying large quantities of City water into the irrigation system—water for which you will receive a bill from the water company. This can be very expensive.

Summer 2011 Legends Newsletter Now Available
Added 9/20/11 – The Summer 2011 Newsletter is now available on the website. Click here to see the latest newsletter.

Legends Irrigation System is on LIMITED USE for the remainder of the irrigation season (ending October 10)
Posted: 10/4/11:  We will not be able to repair one of the two pump motors that serve the Legends pressurized irrigation system before irrigation water is turned off on October 10.  We will continue to provide irrigation water on a limited basis until then.  To enable people to continue using pressurized irrigation, we ask that you continue to use the following watering schedule until then:

  • If your house number is an even number, water only on an even day.
  • If your house number is an odd number, water only on an odd day.
  • Consider watering at different times during your scheduled day (so we don't have everyone watering at the same time, such as the early morning)

You have the option to switch to city water, if you want to water any time during this period of limited use, but you will have to pay for the water you use (which will appear on your water bill).  We apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately mechanical failures will happen.

Legends Night Out - September 16th, 6:30-8:30 pm (Location:  Common area on Pala Mesa)
Added 9/8/11 – We decided at our annual meeting to replace National Night Out (which takes place in August) with Legends Night Out, which will take place in September when more people are back from their summer vacation.  The purpose of Legends Night Out is the same as National Night Out, an informal way for neighbors can meet and get to know each other.  Ice cream and entertainment will be provided.  Please bring a desert to share, your own drinks, and a blanket or chair.  If you have any questions, please contact Beverly Haglund at 939-9975 or via e-mail at bydreamer@aol.com

Added 05/14/11 – The Legends annual neighborhood garage sale will take place on Saturday, June 4 from 8:00am to 3:00pm. You can donate unsold items to charity. A representative from a charitable organization will drive through the neighborhood starting at 3:00pm to collect donated items. 2011 Legends Homeowners Association Annual Meeting
Added 2/18/11 – The Legends Homeowners Association (HOA) 2011 Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 16 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Lowell Scott Middle School cafeteria (located at the corner of Eagle Road and McMillan Road).  You will also receive a mailing with additional information pertaining to the meeting.  Here are links to the five documents that will be provided in the mailing:

2010 Holiday Light Contest Update - Cash Prizes Suspended
Added 12/7/10 – The Legends Homeowners Association (HOA) Board of Directors has voted to suspend the awarding of cash prizes for the Holiday Light Contest this year. The Board agrees with concerns raised by several homeowners about awarding cash prizes while at the same time raising annual dues. Although the total amount of prize money is very small ($150), it would be contradictory to sustain this discretionary expense in the face of a broader fiscal challenge. Hopefully this small 'bah humbug' will not deter homeowners from putting on a fabulous display of holiday cheer this year!

2010 Holiday Light Contest - Week Of December 12
Added 11/30/10 – It's that time of year again for the 2010 Legends Holiday Light Contest! Judging will take place during the week of December 12 and winners will be notified by Christmas Eve. For more information, please visit the "Events" section on the Legends website or click on: http://www.legendsofboise.com/events.php#holidaylights.

Legends HOA Annual Dues Increase
Added 11/30/10 – The Legends HOA Board of Directors has reluctantly approved a $10 per year increase in the Legends Homeowners Association (HOA) annual dues in 2011 (as per the authority granted the Board in the CC&Rs). This will increase annual dues from $360 to $370 (the equivalent of $1.01 per day). The Legends has historically maintained a minimum reserve account of $15,000 for unexpected or emergency situations. This reserve account was partially depleted during 2010 due to significant expenses associated with aging of the pressurized irrigation system and maturing of common area landscaping. The reserve account now stands at $9,000 and puts us at risk should a major expense occur, such as an irrigation pump failure. A $20 increase is required to replenish the reserve account by $6,000 and restore a $15,000 balance (316 lots x $20/lot). Given the current economic climate affecting many homeowners, the Board decided to increase dues by only $10. The Board is determined to manage HOA finances prudently and will reduce annual dues in the future if possible. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Irrigation Shutoff - Tuesday, October 12
Added 09/29/10 – The pumps for the pressurized irrigation system will be shut off on October 12. The last full day irrigation water will be available is October 11.

Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale - Saturday, June 5

Annual Homeowners Meeting - Wednesday, March 10, 2010
Added 02/17/10 - The 2010 Legends Homeowners Association (HOA) annual meeting is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, March 10, from 7:00-8:30pm at Lowell Scott Middle School. A more detailed, formal announcement will be mailed to each homeowner’s residence and available on this website soon. This is the one time each year for homeowners to come together to learn what is happening, discuss concerns and ideas with others, and get involved with activities that improve our neighborhood and everyone’s property values.

The Board of Directors attempts to schedule a prominent community leader to be a guest speaker at each annual meeting. Last year’s guest speaker was Robert McQuade, Ada County Assessor. This year’s guest speaker is Maryanne Jordan, Boise City Council President. Ms. Jordan, who lives in West Boise, will discuss the important issues facing Boise, followed by a Q & A session. Please set some time aside to participate in our annual meeting and meet Maryanne Jordan. We look forward to seeing you there!
